The Kilmore Regional Busking Championships is a new event created by the Rotary Club of Southern Mitchell (Victoria) and the Kilmore Art Society and is affiliated with the Australian National Busking Championships. Our inaugural Regional Championship was held on Saturday 13 April 2019 and created an enormous buzz & energy level in our town. Residents loved the energetic vibe it created. Our aim is to promote performance art to provide a public exposure pathway for emerging local, regional & rural artists whilst also supporting the visual arts via the Kilmore Art Expo which runs concurrently with the Busking Championships. In 2020 – Saturday April 4 – we have a whole lot more local attractions on offer – a visit to Silkies Rose Nursery in Clonbinane, a visit to the home of BlazeAid in East Kilmore (must be booked in advance), an Open Garden visit and also the Bylands Tram Museum just 5 minutes drive away. Kilmore is Victoria’s oldest inland settled town (Violet Town beat us by being gazetted first!) and has a fabulous history dating from the late 1830’s. Walk brochures guiding you through our historic town will be available at the Art Expo, located at the Memorial Hall, 12 Sydney Street.
